What’s new for 2018…………
So it’s almost time to wave farewell to 2017 but what a year it has been for our favourite parks. With the introduction of Disney’s Animal Kingdoms’ Pandora – The World of Avatar, and our newest Universal Orlando waterpark Volcano Bay, we are very excited at what’s instore for 2018….
Universal Orlando Resort - Introduces Fast & Furious – Supercharged.
This highly anticipated thrill ride, due to open Spring 2018 is Universal’s newest offering since Jimmy Fallon’s Race through New York, launched this year.
Based on the 6th installment of The Fast and Furious film franchise, and housed in Universal’s San Fransico area, the ride promises a full throttle, heart pounding experience where you’ll join the ‘Family’, Dom, Hobbs, Letty and Roman on an exciting action packed quest.
Guests will also get the chance to check out 15 authentic Fast and Furious pimped rides, (including 12 from the movies, and three created exclusively for the attraction).
Like ‘Race through New York’, in an effort to curb the long line experience, Supercharged will also employ a virtual line whereby guests can select a return time and party size then board the ride when their ticket is broadcast.
Universal’s Aventura Hotel – number 6 of Universal’s onsite hotel chains is due to open in August 2018.
This new 600 room, modern and stylish landmark hotel, offers views of all three Universal Orlando theme parks whilst incorporating a vibrant, free-flowing and calming design.
Featuring a high quality multi-cuisine food hall, lobby, rooftop and poolside bars, and a striking pool area this newest hotel offering guarantees to be another prominent success in Universal’s onsite hotel group.
It has not gone unnoticed that Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios is undergoing extensive work at present as we see ongoing development of the highly anticipated Star Wars Land, (set to open 2019) and the closure of many favourites, most recently being The Great Movie ride - which was met with much sadness from its avid fans.
Nontheless with this change brings fresh, exciting fun-filled attractions, with the most imminent being Toy Story Land, set to open in Summer 2018.
Guests are invited to explore Andy’s backyard for adventure amongst his playthings. Included will be a new Alien Swirling Saucers ride – featuring the green aliens from the movies, and a Slinky-Dog themed coaster suitable for all the family.
With all of the works taking place onsite and the timeless popularity of Toy Story, this new area promises to be a very welcome addition to the park.
Seaworld - After the great success of Kraken Unleashed, the new virtual reality experience aboard Seaworld’s famous floorless coaster, Seaworld gets ready to wet our appetite once more with their all new rapids ride – Infinity Falls.
With promises of a 40ft drop and over 1520ft of track, hold on tight for this family friendly raft ride.
With these new and exciting attractions all set to keep us busy throughout 2018 you’ll need a rest, and what better than to relax at Seaworld’s very own waterpark Aquatica and try out their new fully-loaded water adventure - Ray Rush.
Set to open in Spring 2018 - Ray Rush, a brand new family raft slide combines three unique slide elements that the whole family can enjoy together.
This is a perfect addition to the waterpark, and offering an experinece that can’t be found anywhere else in Florida, riders of Ray Rush can experience three exciting thrills as they slide, splash and soar like never before...
So there you have it, a little snippet of what’s to come in 2018. Thrills and adventure aplenty and I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait!!!
