Character Dining at Walt Disney World is guaranteed to put a smile on anyone''s face, both young and old. There is a growing number of venues now offering this with reservations required to ensure the place is secured.

Whilst not particularly cheap, character dining is a unique experience which should not be missed. Characters take time to visit each table in turn, pose for photographs and interact with the party.
Advance reservation is required with the dining options varying from venue to venue to include a buffet, family style (large bowls delivered to your table) or pre plated options. The servers will happily provide more of any items on all options so don't be afraid to ask.

We recommend researching all possible venues as they vary greatly in style, characters and size with some suited to younger children whilst others are geared towards older visitors. There are a few hints and tips however, which will ensure you get the most from your experience:

Camera
Seems obvious but don't forget the camera! There a numerous opportunities to grab some everlasting unforgettable shots of a Character Dining experience with many Disney cast members on hand to assist and take shots of your party.

Special occasion – let 'em know
Disney love special occasions so if it happens to be someone's birthday or other special occasion whilst at the Character Dining, let the Disney cast member know at the Customer Services Desk. They may arrange a little surprise!

Grab an aisle seat
If possible, place children at an aisle seat as this offers the best opportunity for multiple pictures and more interaction with the characters.

Choose carefully....
The venues rotate characters around so those found at breakfast may not be around for other times of the day. Enquire when reserving your dining time as to who you can expect to meet – Disney are happy to allow you to choose the best time so you meet the desired character.

Avoid busy times
Reserve your dining time at an odd time ie not usual eating times and you stand a greater chance of having an extended interaction time with the characters.

Be patient
Don't expect to be the first to be visited by the characters – there are often large numbers of people to go around! Be patient and enjoy the experience!
